Lone Tree in Fog

A lone oak tree in the Central Coast of California's wine country, with vineyards faded out in the background. While driving around the Central Coast wine country one morning and waiting for the dense fog to lift, I noticed this lone oak tree and just had to stop and make an image. Armed with my Mamiya 645, I only had black and white film loaded, but I thought that would help with the simplicity of this image. I love the way these old oaks curve and sway in the wind and elements as they grow older. Each tree seems to tell a story.

Flowing Dunes

Some beautiful flowing sand dunes in the late afternoon setting sun in Death Valley National Park. I made this image in the fall of 2017 using my Nikon D810. It was cropped to 16x9 format to remove some of the cloudless sky and make the dunes more of the focus.
