Loren is a Park City, Utah, based photographer with emphasis on intimate landscapes and nature.

After 20+ years as a wine industry professional, Loren has a unique passion and perspective on the stories that make the wine world so special. He travels the globe to capture the art of winemaking and the hard working farmers who make it possible.

I think too often people get caught up in the “romance” of wine, but lose sight of the people huffing boxes of grapes around rocky, uneven hillsides, stooped over all day long with aching backs, rolling around 100# barrels, carrying heavy hoses and shoveling and raking grapes all day in the hot sun. Their dedication to this demanding but crucial work in the art of winemaking is humbling. I hope to make images that present a powerful reminder that even the finest wine is nothing more than the age-old tradition of farming - completely dependent on the earth, mother nature, and extremely hard work.

As a self taught chef, Loren’s respect for ingredients and knowledge of how simple great food allows for an unobstructed approach to his food photography. Similar to his cooking style, great food photos are produced by using the best ingredients available and letting them shine for themselves. Simple, clean, seasonal, and vibrant. 

There is something so humbling yet empowering, even thrilling, about being immersed in the grandiosity of Mother Nature. Loren strives to convey that sensation through his photographs, both to share with those who may not get to experience these wonders firsthand and to encourage others to explore the magnificence this planet has to offer.
